Life can be tough. In today’s world, everyone lives a busy life, from juggling work, family and friends to just simply trying to get by day to day. Sometimes life’s demands can get too much and can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious and low.
These feelings can create thoughts that are unhelpful, leading us to feel ashamed, guilty, worthless and alone. These thoughts can manifest internally and are extremely powerful when left to grow alone in the mind. They can start to feel real, with reality and thoughts becoming blurred and physically affecting the way we feel and behave. Life may no longer feel enjoyable and the daily struggle may leave you feeling emotionally and physically exhausted. The last thing you probably think about is taking some time out for yourself.
My aim as a counsellor is to help you take that pause from life’s stresses and focus on you. Looking at the past to understand what may be causing you to feel or think the way you do, how it’s shaped your view of yourself and what impact it may be having in everyday life and relationships. Together we can explore what’s important for you to keep hold of, what you want to let go of and what you want to change. Working together we can focus on your goals, and what you may want to change to help you start to feel positive about life again.
I started my counselling training 3 years ago and am a registered member of the BACP, working on an integrative basis with adults on a one to one basis. I work with relationship issues, anxiety, stress, depression, self-confidence and self-esteem issues.
