About me

My life, like many others, has been one of ups and downs and has taken me on some unexpected journeys. For many years I have worked with children, adults and families from a wide range of backgrounds and who face a wide range of challenges. I have been adaptable and creative in this work. My experience has highlighted to me the importance of trusting relationships and has led me to where I am at this moment – training to be a counsellor. It has also led me to the Person-Centered Approach – counselling that uses my natural skills and recognises the importance the counsellor and client relationship. A relationship that is non-judgmental and non-directive but rather one of collaboration, positive regard and one which allows the client to explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions in a confidential space and provides them with the opportunity to express their concerns and problems and to achieve clarity of thought. Most importantly the Person-Centered Approach acknowledges the clients potential and ability to make the right choices for themselves. I will offer you therapy in a safe, calm and non-judgmental space and together we will explore what is happening for you and what it is you want to change. I am able to work with a wide range of issues and I work within the BACP Ethical Framework.
