Life can be really hard. Sometimes events or relationships can cause you to experience distress, anxiety, depression or any other number of difficult feelings that can become overwhelming, confusing or seem unmanageable. You might be experiencing difficult feelings but are not sure why and are unsure where they have come from. Or you might just feel really stuck and have no idea how to move forward. In any of these situations, I believe talking can really help. However, I also understand that this can be incredibly difficult and a challenge in itself. Therefore my goal is to support you in exploring how you are feeling and I see the relationship that we will build together as the most important element of the counselling process.
I am currently working towards my Diploma in Gestalt Counselling. As a Gestalt counsellor, my focus is to support you in noticing and reflecting upon what is going on for you in the present moment. I may also work with you to explore how past events or relationships may be continuing to affect you now. In collaboration with clients, I can work creatively to help to increase self-awareness and acceptance which I recognise as the foundations of personal growth and the starting point in moving forward.
