I am currently working towards completion of my Diploma in Gestalt counselling, and I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a Gestalt therapist, I understand the individuality of each client and the importance of self-acceptance and awareness for every individual. I also use creativity in the counselling room in order to facilitate individual needs of expression. I also have a Certificate and knowledge of Humanistic and Psychodynamic approach.
I am driven towards providing a safe environment in which the client can explore and reflect. Creating a supportive, non-judgmental, empathic space is an integral element in regards to getting to the core of their difficulties in order to promote lasting change. My goal is to increase self-awareness with the client as I believe that this enables personal growth and development. Utilising mindfulness techniques and phenomenology to engage the connection of the mind and body.
I work with a range of issues including stress, anxiety & relationships. Having worked in a Hospice providing clinical support, I also have a good understanding of dealing with the impact of loss and grief.
